How can I arrange to have a Mortgage or Caveat that GE Capital previously registered against my property removed?

A request will need to be made to the entity that registered the mortgage or lodged the caveat. Following GE Capital’s disposition of its businesses in Australia and New Zealand a number of these entities are now under new ownership and as such, the request will need to be forwarded to the current owner of the entity. You will need to ascertain the current name of the relevant legal entity via the ASIC website.

AGC DEBENTURE QUERIES

For Enquiries or assistance relating to an AGC Debenture Investment with GE Finance Australasia Pty Ltd (ABN 88 000 015 485) (formerly Australian Guarantee Corporation Limited). Please note: The Company was placed into voluntary liquidation on 27 July 2017. The affairs of the Company were wound up by the liquidator, and the Company was subsequently deregistered by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission on 14 March 2018. All outstanding debentures issued by the Company were repaid prior to the Company being deregistered.

 

PPSR DISCHARGE – DEREGISTERED COMPANY

Where the GE Capital secured party for this security interest has now been deregistered, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is therefore now the point of contact for this security interest. To remove the security interest, you need to email an Amendment Demand letter to ASIC’s Property Law Group at [email protected]. For more information on the Amendment Demand process, please see the PPSR website (www.ppsr.gov.au).

 

How do I make a claim for unclaimed monies?

Australia:

To check whether any funds such as a credit balance associated with your finance facility have been forwarded to either the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) or a State Government agency as unclaimed monies please refer to ASIC’s MoneySmart website and the State Revenue Office Victoria website.

If you are the rightful owner of funds that GE Capital has previously remitted to ASIC as unclaimed monies then you can forward your claim (including the Original Transaction Number (OTN) relating to your claim) to our unclaimed monies team  here*

New Zealand:

To check whether any funds such as a credit balance associated with your finance facility have been forwarded to Inland Revenue as unclaimed monies please refer to Inland Revenue’s Website.

If you believe you are the rightful owner of unclaimed money held by Inland Revenue, your will need to forward your full name, address, IRD number and proof of identity (for example a copy of a birth certification, driver’s licence or passport) by email to [email protected]

How can I arrange to have a default or judgement listing on my credit file updated or removed?

A request will need to be made to the credit provider entity that registered the default listing on your credit file. You will need to make a request to the credit provider entity which has lodged information on your credit file to verify the accuracy of the information and where appropriate, to make a correction to the information. It is recommended that you first obtain a copy of your credit file from Equifax before contacting the credit provider entity.

Alternatively, you can contact Equifax who offers a free service to investigate the accuracy of the information on your credit report that is in dispute or which you think needs fixing. More information about this service is available from here:
