Bobcat's challenge

From its humble northern plains beginnings, Bobcat grew to be an increasingly global company. Today, Bobcat is the leading compact equipment manufacturer in North America for industries including construction, landscaping, agriculture, grounds maintenance, utility and mining.

Bobcat has the most extensive compact equipment distribution network in the world, with over 1000 dealer locations worldwide. Bobcat views its dealers as stewards of the brand, and works closely with its network to ensure dealers not only understand Bobcat's product line, but can also provide a consistent customer experience. Bobcat needed a financing partner who understood the markets it serves, and could provide the same high standards of service across the massive Bobcat dealer network.

GE Capital brings a strong industry expertise to the table, and has worked closely with us to understand the financial needs of our dealer network.

GE Capital's strategy

GE Capital is a true partner for Bobcat. GE Capital Equipment Finance is Bobcat's exclusive wholesale finance provider for the company's 600 plus North American dealers, insuring dealers get the inventory they need. Additionally, over 90 percent of the dealers who finance their inventory with GE Capital also offer GE Capital financing to their customers.

Heather Huffman, GE Capital relationship manager for Bobcat, works with Bobcat to move equipment through the supply chain, as well as manage inventory and increase sales. By providing dealers with proprietary online inventory management and accounting systems, GE Capital allows dealers to approve financing for customers and manage paperwork in a seamless process. Heather and her team also provide training for Doosan Infracore International Inc. (Bobcat's parent company), Bobcat, and its dealers, and help structure larger deals and assist with collection when needed.

The results

Despite a challenging economic climate, Bobcat is gaining market share and anticipates improved growth in 2011. GE Capital focused on improving turn times on credit approvals to keep business flowing smoothly at Bobcat dealers.

GE Capital's exclusive relationship with Bobcat ensures the two share common goals. Heather "We align with Bobcat's business plan and each GE functional group's goals complement Bobcat's goals."
