David Nason

David Nason is GE Capital's Chief Regulatory Officer & Compliance Leader. GE Capital finished 2010 with a net income of $3.3 billion and assets in excess of $575 billion.

David joined GE Capital in August 2010. In this newly created leadership role, David will lead the global regulatory and compliance team and prepare the business for the changing regulatory environment in markets around the world. He joins GE with more than 16 years of financial services and regulatory experience in senior government and private sector roles. Most recently, David was managing director at Promontory Financial Group, a leading global financial services consultancy. Previously, David was the Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Before joining the Treasury Department, David spent three years as a counsel to a commissioner at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

David received his law degree from the Washington College of Law at The American University and earned his bachelor's degree in finance from The American University in Washington, D.C.
