Alec Burger is the President & CEO of GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the commercial aviation leasing and financing unit of GE.
Alec joined the company in 1991 and later was named a GE Company officer in 2007.
Prior to his current role, Alec was the president and CEO of GE Capital Real Estate, the financing unit of GE Capital that managed properties around the world. Before this, Alec oversaw the lending and investing activities throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico as President of the North American division for GE Capital Real Estate.
From 2002 to 2006 Alec was the managing director of GE Capital Real Estate – UK. Before this he was vice president of business development and led a number of major strategic real estate acquisitions in the United States.
Prior to that, Alec held a number of leadership positions both in the U.S. and England for GE Capital’s Equipment Leasing Business.
Alec joined GE from Bain and Company and before that was a mechanical engineer at Cabot Corporation in Boston.
Alec earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Trinity College and received his MBA from Northeastern University.
He serves on the board of the National MS Society.
