GE Capital is committed to helping build better businesses and strengthen communities through its philanthropic and volunteer efforts. Across the globe, GE Capital has developed a number of programs that focus on empowering women. These programs vary to suit local market conditions and needs. In Poland, for example, GE Capital has partnered with several local non-profits to create an online hub and in-person training program to provide basic financial education for women. The program has reached over 60,000 virtual visitors and 300+ women in-person.
In the U.S., GE Capital launched a Banking on Women program in Salt Lake City to help female micro-entrepreneurs. With the support and advice from their teachers, mentors, and classmates, many of the Banking on Women participants have already been able to grow their businesses. Working with the Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund and Westminster College, GE Capital is now recruiting its fourth class of Banking on Women participants. Read more on the Salt Lake program.
