Leadership & Learning

We hire exceptional people and invest in their growth. GE Capital has a culture of continuous learning, thoughtfully designed to enable employees to grow their personal capabilities and reach their full potential. We have a renewed commitment to leadership development, with a designated learning leader in each business and an integrated team providing opportunities for development across our financial services. Two examples are the Capital Executive Leadership Experience (CELE), a business-based program providing opportunities for career assessment and development planning that spans three separate weeks. Capital Executive Leadership Symposium (CELS) offers the opportunity to interact with our most senior leaders working on real Capital business problems. We invest in your education, provide access to experienced colleagues and give you the opportunities to work with intelligent, dedicated people, challenge yourself, and grow. In 2010, GE was named the World's Best Company for Leadership in the latest annual rankings released by BusinessWeek.

Education is pervasive across GE Capital. Worldwide, we invest about $1 billion every year on training and educational programs for our employees.

A Culture of Health

Through HealthAhead, GE Capital has further committed to improve the health of our employees and their families by creating a 'culture of health,' which will deliver onsite and online programs, education, tools and services. We have also developed a global, industry-leading site certification program that will recognize excellence in worksite health.

GE Capital is committed to environmental sustainability. Through our lending, we help our customers finance eco-friendly initiatives including natural gas, wind, solar, biomass, hydro, geothermal and other renewable power projects that will recognize excellence in worksite health.

We also recognize that we can have a positive impact on the environment. Therefore, we constantly seek ways to improve our environmental credentials and encourage environmentally-friendly behavior in our employees.

We constantly challenge and strive to improve our facilities management practices. Success means reduced waste, reduced consumption, and increased recycling with many of our facilities achieving LEED certification.
